ARTIST STATEMENT:

A biomedical scientist by trade, I approach the natural world with observation and experimentation.

But what if we approached the artistic expression of nature with the same rigor, curiosity, and urgency that the most pressing of scientific investigations demands?

Through gentle blurred strokes of oil paint, I capture the fleeting glow of sunlight as it peeks through webs of expressively rendered floral and arboreal foreground elements. By transforming the traditional landscape into modern impressions of saturated color and scattered light, I aim to not only record the facts of the natural world, but to illuminate its underlying patterns- beauty, resilience, and connectedness. Through my lens, science and art are no longer diametric opponents, but complementary partners in revealing vital truths.
